The City Council meets the first four Wednesdays of each month, except July, when the Council is in recess. Council meetings are held at City Hall, 1500 Marilla Street, on the 6th Floor.

AGENDA MEETINGS
During agenda meetings, the Council votes on various matters affecting our city. The public may speak on any matter at the beginning of the meeting (starting at 9:00AM) and at the end end of agenda meetings after signing up with the City Secretary. The public may also speak on particular issues being considered during the afternoon session, starting at 1:30PM. Agenda meetings are held in Council Chambers on the 6th floor. Handicap access is available from the 5th floor.

BRIEFING MEETINGS
The Council meetings alternate between briefing meetings and agenda meetings. During briefing meetings, the Council is updated on upcoming agenda items and issues affecting the city. Occasionally, the council votes on a small number of time-sensitive items during briefing meetings.

Briefing meetings are held on the 6th floor in room 6ES. The public may speak on any matter at the beginning of the meeting (starting at 9:00AM) and at the end of briefing meetings after signing up with the City Secretary.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS
The Council has five standing committees that address the Council’s priorities. I serve on four committees (marked with an asterisk):

• Trinity River

There are also two ad hoc committees:  the Legislative Committee and the Committee for Judicial Nominations, of which I am chair.  View a list of committee members.  Most committee meetings are held on the 6th floor in room 6ES.  Generally, there is no public comment unless requested by the chair.
