Dallas has a council-manager form of government, with the mayor and council selecting a city manager to serve as the chief operating officer of the city. The city is divided into fourteen council districts, with each councilmember representing approximately 90,000 residents. The mayor is elected at-large.
The City Council meets every Wednesday, and holds council committee meetings on Mondays and Tuesdays. You can visit the City of Dallas website at www.dallascityhall.com.
