Abrams – Brookside Homeowners Association Meeting
Thursday, January 6th, 2005 at 10:22 PM

I attended the Abrams – Brookside Homeowners Association meeting this evening, where code enforcement was a hot topic of discussion. The city is moving from a criminally-enforced method of code enforcement to a civilly-enforced method, which will make enforcement of repeat or serious code violators easier to achieve.

In addition to this needed change, I’d like to see the city create a program to train and deputize neighborhood residents who could then give notices to code violators. It is imperative that we beef up code compliance in Dallas, and this could be another tool to improve our neighborhoods.
